Hawthorne School District received a $14.25 million grant this week from the California Department of Education and the State Board of Education. The grant, part of the 2022-23 California Community Schools Partnership Program, will allow district students and their families access to free support services through local community organizations. Hawthorne received one of the largest of 128 grants the state handed out to school districts throughout California. 'This grant is not just an investment in our schools, but a testament to our commitment to the future of our students and our community,' Superintendent Brian Markarian said in a press release.
